The Barometer Indicator - Filter Weak from Strong
|
A very simple to use indicator for
the single glance indication from 0 to 100 of strength over the life of
the
instrument
Ideal for use in Tradestation radar
screen, or MultiCharts or the NinjaTrader 8 Market Analyzer
screens
Just double click the Barometer column to sort
weak or strong at the top. Super fast method to see what is
going on.
Can be used on stocks, forex, futures, bonds, indices etc.
Any time-frame can be used. Colour gradients can be added if
required.
A single user input for smoothing was added in order to slow the
rapid shifting up and down as prices change.

Below image is the MultiCharts scanner window ( below left )
which is configurable to do many things.
The Barometer
can also be plotted as an indicator in MultiCharts ( below right
) and NinjaTrader and Tradestation.
There is a 50 plot
mid point which can be enabled or disabled by typing 1 or 0.
Above 50 indicates strength and below 50 indicates weakness.

The PTS-Barometer measures market strength relative to its own past
The logic is very simple. Markets at
all time highs will display 100 and markets at all time lows
will display 0.
The important thing is to load
equal amounts of data for all the markets in the scanner window
or misleading readings can result.
~
Please note if smoothing is added this
reduces the precision of readings but reduces rapid place
shifting in the tables. Try it and see ~
